A TOWN FEAST

This afternoon, I was in Padada Davao Del Sur to do my regular routine field work. I was surprised to noticed that the public utility vehicle did not enter the public market area. It was strange for me to see that. I thought that it was just a market day for the town. But a fellow told me that it was their town feast.

In the market area, many stores and sidewalk vendors occupy the grounds. Movement was limited because of the people celebrating the town feast. I tried my best to squeeze my way into the crowd and finally I reached my first destination. I cannot see the pharmacy's signage because of the crowd. I have been in Padada several times already and maneuvering in the town was not a problem for me, only this time.

Most local residents of Padada Davao Del Sur would prepare food in their houses and welcome guests to their homes. This is like the traditional feast in Bohol. According to my customer, there are many strangers visit their house and they will offer them food as thanks giving for the bountiful harvest of the town.

Other residents of nearby towns like Sulop, Malalag, Digos City and Malita would go to Padada just to celebrate the town feast. In Padada, Crime rate is very small and usually crimes committed are petty. Nobody goes to jail in the town. If only I knew that it was their town feast, I should have rescheduled my trip their. I saw also many drunk men in the highway. The bottles of liquor are scattered anywhere. This what I call A town feast.

MEDICINE 911

My house mate told me that she is being attacked by her ulcer. I know it's kinda late in the morning but I still accompanied her to the 24 hours pharmacy, The Mercury Drug in San Pedro Street. I bought 6 sachets of Gastripac and also a noodle cup so that she can have her stomach heated with the hot soup and noodles.

Tonight, I realized the importance of having a medicine box that is full of daily medicines. You'll never know when a sickness or health problems may arise. It is better to be prepared and safe than sorry. Our old medicine box is empty and medicines are bought as the problem arise. But I am really considering having a complete medicines in the house.

I gave my housemate 3 sachets for her ulcer. Gastripac is an effective medicine for ulcer and other stomach related problems. The last time the medicine box was full of medicines was when my father died.

MY MOVIE EXPERIENCE TONIGHT

It's been quite sometime now since my last time a watch a movie on the big screen. Tonight was my visit after 6 months and I miss the movie house so much. I was with my mom, brother and sisters. We watch the movie of John Lloyd Cruz, Vilma Santos and Luis Manzano ( son of Vilma in real life).

The movie was all about a mom and his son. Mom moves in with son in an another country, and the son was living with he loves most his boyfriend. I know it is complicated but the story was based on a real life scenario. The movie was shot in New York City, the land of opportunities. The direction of the movie was superb and was well directed and filled with today's most promising actors in this generation.

What I realize after watching the movie was to love the time with your love ones. Spend time for bonding and taking time have quality moment with them. I know I sound kinda cry-boy. But that is what I felt after I watched the movie. I would say, it is a must watch movie for the family. Parents must not be afraid to let their children watch same sex relationships because that is happening right now. It is rationally accepted already. Parent must be open-minded about the story.

THE 5 YEAR OLD ROOM

When I was still single, I used to occupy the third room in the house. It was the smallest room and it was made for just one person. The room has an electric fan, a bed, 2 windows, books and a closet. There is also a table where I used to place my belongings and other personal things.

When I got married, I transferred to the second largest room in the house. My former room became the stockroom in the house. Since nobody was going to occupy it, I was not able to clean it up. It was also my largest closet. I hang my shirts and newly washed clothes there and my shoes are all over the room. It was really a bodega for my personal belongings.

Just the other month, I realized that I really needed to clean the room up. It's been 5 years since the last clean up of the room. it is the 5 year old room and it has to be organized again. I started cleaning the room the other day and I just finished it this time. I also placed a new bulb light in the room so that I can see all the things that I really needed to arrange. After the clean up of the room, I guess the laundry will definitely follow afterward since I had so many unwashed clothes that I picked up during my clean up. This is going to be a tough job and I can do this alone.

ITS GOOD TO BE BACK AGAIN

Hello guy! Did you miss me?I'm just thankful to be back again in our house. I've been away for quite sometime and I really miss my blogging job. I was not able to update my post for about 7, lonely, long days. I was in the province and as you all know, internet connection is really a big problem when you are in the province.

Last week, I was in some areas in Sarangani Province and several areas in South Cotabato and in Sultan Kudarat. Life living away from your house has some pros and cons. The pros are, You get to feel living alone and surviving in the environment that you are a stranger. You meet new friends along the way and build your image, when nobody knows who you are. The cons are, you feel lonely and sad since you are far from your love ones. You feel like you are alone and nobody will come to rescue you when you are in a problem. There are others more, but I just don't want to talk about it anymore. I am just happy to be blogging once again in my comfort zone, my house.

PHYSICAL INVENTORY IS TIRING

The whole day, I was in the warehouse doing the physical count of stocks. The physical inventory is an annual activity done by our company to check the available balance in the warehouse and in the computer program. The two must be balance. The actual count and the computer stock status must be the same. If not, the warehouse department has so many explaining to do.

I was doing the count for the pharma products, the most salable products in our company. I have two assistants with, doing the counting, while I wrote down the figures as dictated to me. What make the task tiring is that, the warehouse is very hot and warm. It is like a giant sauna bath and dust was a problem.

After the entire day of counting, we will be doing the reconcile tomorrow. But I think I won't make it because I will be in the province doing my field work. I already made some sum up of the stocks and I also designated to my assistant the task of doing the reconciliation tomorrow.

The physical inventory is part of our accounting system to be able to maintain a strict standards with regards to stock balances. I am very confident that the physical inventory will be completed by tomorrow morning. I cannot go to the office since I have to leave early morning.

CIGARETTE LIGHTER FOR A CAUSE

I really don't understand myself. I very fond of buying things that I don't need. Yesterday, as I was on the bus from Calinan going to downtown proper, I saw this kid selling cigarette lighters. He was selling them at 2 for 15 pesos. I don't smoke but just for nothing at all, I bought one for 7 pesos. What I noticed about the lighter is that it has a mini flashlight in the bottom part of it. Maybe that was the reason I bought it because I was attracted to the uniqueness of the lighter that the kid was selling.

The lighter is now with me and this will add up to my nothing important collections. Buying something is really very amusing for me. I also acquired a Nike shoes, size 13, that is very huge for my foot. My actual size is around 10-11 inches and the 13 was beyond my imagination. After buying it from my friendly okay-okay store, I gave it to my brother so that he can use it during his basketball games.

Maybe buying things that I really don't need is my way of expressing my creativeness. I don't intend to use it. I just want to have one. who knows, I might use it someday.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO

Now I know what to do for our first year anniversary this coming October 11. We are thinking of having a trip to Pearl farm in Samal Island and will be staying at one of the hotels here in Davao City. I cannot think better than that. My wife will be booking our staying maybe by tomorrow or the end of September. I don't want to mess anything when it comes to planning for the anniversary because she is good in that. But I am more concern with the financial of the scheduled activity for our anniversary.

We have to many plans this coming days and I am very excited of these activities. My plans for the upcoming months are very rigid and I need my best concentration for this matter. My office mate keeps on inviting me to join his weights session at Matina Crossing. I still need to think about it because with the body that I had, I don't need to go to the gym and work things out for my body. But that is not yet final for me. if I think that I really need a gym session, then I will go to the gym and enroll myself for their session.

THINKING OF ANOTHER VACATION

I just realized that me and my wife, will be celebrating our first year anniversary this October 11. Time really moves fast and few more days to go and that big day is finally here. I really don't know how to celebrate it. But I guess traveling would be a good idea. The last time I had a long vacation was when we went to Hong Kong for our honeymoon. But I am still considering traveling this anniversary celebration as we turn One.

I am thinking about going to Cebu City or Kalibo for the celebration. I just have to determine where really I want to go. My wife really wanted to go to Manila and proceed to Laguna for the Enchanted Kingdom. But will only materialized when the airplane fare is affordable. I was informed that commercial airlines are lowering the fare rate by the end of September and by that, we just need to wait for that.

I really needed a long vacation this time for me to unwind myself and relieve my body from the stress of working in the office. My wife also needed that for her to unwind too. When the final place will be final on where we will be going, I will just keep you updated always.

LATE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

I just got from a free dinner courtesy of Kit, my cousin who celebrated his 22nd birthday. I was not around during his birthday because I was in Mati. As they said, it is better to be late than never at all. The small feast for just the four of us was held at their residence in downtown area. We were not expecting guest since nobody was coming except us.

In their living room area, we dined and celebrated his day of birth. Mom was very vocal about the things Kit should do, since he will be taking the nursing board examination this coming November. I hope he will make it because that will shape his future as a nurse and land a job in a medical institution. I am proud of my cousin, I saw him grew from a young boy to a matured thinker.

My aunt cooked everything that we ate tonight. I was very stomach full after the sumptuous dinner at the house of my cousin. I was planning to give him something, maybe I have to buy something for him later on. Kit really wanted to have a play station and play his favorite game, NBA live. For he love basketball so much, the only problem is that he is short. He only stands around 5'3", pretty short for a guy. But he is good looking just like me.

GRANDMOTHER'S LAST DAY, FAREWELL LOLA GOYANG

I was in Mati Davao Oriental last Saturday to attend the last day of my grandmother before she will be brought to the public cemetery in the province. Upon arrival , me and my mother, were greeted warmly by relative and friends in the place. We thought that the burial would be at 1 o' clock. But we were told that the burial would be by 2 pm in the afternoon.

I was the one driving our car going to the place. We left Davao City around 7 am and reached Tagum City at 8:25 am. My wife was with us since she was working in Tagum City. We proceeded to our apartment and took some time to rest before we go to Mati. The road to Davao oriental is under construction still right now. I would say it is not ideal for travel when using a car going there. SUV and trucks are ideal for travel to Davao Oriental.

I was told that the remains will be taken to the cathedral central in Mati Davao Oriental. I really don't have any idea where it was but I just thought I would rather follow the procession of cars and not to deviate from it, that I usually do. In the cathedral, the farewell mass was held and after that pictures were taken. I noticed that many of my cousins were crying and even my aunts and uncles too. I would admit that my eyes were teary but it never fell down. After the mass, we proceeded immediately to the cemetery. It was a 80 degrees climb and has a narrow road that only pedicabs can access. I was scared that I may not make it to climb that type of road condition. I must control my pedals very well or else I might bump the car behind me if my car falls back. I was just happy to make it that kind of drive. Even the exit was very difficult because the road was going down and it was a rough road, composed of soil and some loose gravels.

After the burial, we went back to the house of my aunt and ate some food. Rice grains were thrown to the people. It was a sign of thanks for the people who accompany my grandmother to her last day. We were also told to wash our hands in the basin with water and some plants floating on in. After those rituals, it was food time again. I ate some food that were being served and bid my farewell to my aunt. We have to leave because the poor condition of the road makes it harder to travel at night. For you cannot see the holes on the road. The burial was organized properly by my cousin. It was a solemn and simple burial for my grandmother. May she rest in peace in the hands of our Lord. Fare well Lola Goyang, we will miss you.

NEW CAR FOR THE NEWLY WEDS

I just got married and my wife and I are planning to acquire a car that we will be using for our daily travel needs. It is because commuting is very tiring. I have selected already from the list of new cars that are available in the market right now. My wife likes the brand new cars for it's fuel efficiency and I like the old ones because of their durability to serve our travel needs.

My personal choice would be the Honda because of it's elegance and class beyond the other brands that are in the market right now. But we really need to discuss what car to buy since this will be used everyday. My wife prefers the van type of vehicle so that it can carry more passengers on board.

we are still looking at the cars that are available right now. We are not rushing because we don't want to miss the details on acquiring the car. We don't want to regret the car that we will be buying. We want to be sure and we considering all the things that we want before we spend our money on the car that we want.

NEW THINGS I BOUGHT AT SHOE MART

I just got home from my shopping at SM this evening with my wife. I bought some things for the house and my wife bought some curtains for our house in Tagum City. There are so many things on sale right now at SM (Shoe Mart). I thought that the sale was just for the Kadayawan festival (A celebration of bountiful harvest). It was good that we did not bought during the Kadayawan festival because there are more items sale right now compared during the Kadayawan Festival sale.

I bought three trash bins for 100 pesos and for me that is a best buy already. I also bought a shoe rack for the shoes in our house. It was very much needed because our shoes are scattered all over the house, including the living room. I also bought a small notebook. I will use this to record my expenses because I am trying to control my expenses right now.

My computer here in the house really needed to be replaced because I can feel that there is a problem with my computer monitor. But I don't have to worry because I already told my wife that I am bringing the computer in Tagum City here so that I can use it for my blogging jobs. Hay!

I hope that the United States of America will recover from the crisis so that more tasks will be given to bloggers around the world. My wife and I are going to talk about our plans because in this time, we really need to make this happen. It's a make or break for us. We really need to prepare ourselves for the future.

THE COUGHING CONTINUES

I thinks it is already 2 weeks now and still my cough is still with me. I got a cough and then fever and now the fever is gone and still my cough rages on. I am like a dog right now. I cough and cough all the time. I already taken some medications, but no effect. I am considering going to the medical expert to consult my cough condition. It is very irritating and disturbing when I cough in the office.

I already took robitussin gel capsules and still my cough is still bothering me all the time. I don't bring handkerchief with me. When I cough I just cover my mouth with my hands. I don't want to cause an outbreak in the office and make others ill. Maybe the problem is with me. I don't take my medicines religiously as stated in the medical book. I miss sometimes my medicines. Few more days and if my cough goes on, I would admit myself in the hospital for proper medical attention.

BER MONTH IS NOW HERE

Yes! Finally it is already BER month. This means that few months from now, we will be celebrating Christmas again. That means gifts and gifts for all. I can now hear Christmas carols and songs related to the season. I guess I need to prepare the Christmas tree so that I can decorate our house easily.

This Christmas will be extra special for us because there are new additions to our growing family. This the first time that we will be celebrating Christmas with my new niece, CLoi. I want to make the season special, I have decided to buy new decorations for our Christmas Tree and some brand new lights. I really need to replace the old ones since that are so many lights that are busted already.

Early shopping for Christmas is very ideal right now to avoid the Christmas rush. People tend to do panic buying when Christmas is approaching. Malls and shopping centers here in our city are now preparing for the season of Christmas. I guess I need to do my Christmas list, things to buy for Christmas. I better start writing now so that I won't forget the smallest details in my Christmas list.
