I AM THE MASTER OF THE CEREMONY

We were talking in the office about the upcoming Christmas party this coming 19th of December. I has been agreed that the office departments will have to perform a presentation number. But our department has never practiced any form of presentation, unlike our counterparts in the office. They have already prepared their presentation and is in constant practice just to win the price of the contest during the Christmas party.

Late this afternoon, I was told that we will no longer make a presentation and that means no practice like the other departments. But our department has something to do in the celebration and that is to be the master of ceremony for the night. My office mate told me that I will be just one of the host and more.

Honestly, I am a little scared about the idea. No scripts and no key notes, everything will be done extemporaneously by the members of our department. I need to buy costumes for the party and but I don't know what to wear for the event. I am very confident that the hosting task will be completed with no glitch at all.

ALL SAINTS DAY

Many people right now are going to the cemetery to visit their departed love ones. As expected, many people would be visible in the graveyard than in the malls. All saints day is the only day dedicated to those who already passed away. It old belief, all saints day is said to be the day that souls of dead people would get up and socialize with their visiting relatives. That is why every all saints day you would see many horror movies about ghosts and other elements that could frighten people.

In some countries, the term Halloween is used and they would dress up in many scary costumes. From vampires, mummy, elf and even Osama Bin Laden are now being part of Halloween scary costumes. Like always, we would visit our departed relatives in all saints day. I just got home from the cemetery. I am all wet and in chill because of the heavy rain that poured like hell! I like that term!

Things like candles, flowers, gravestone artist are very visible during all saints day. I think celebrating all saints day is good. Because we get to remember our departed love ones as they sleep eternally six feet below the ground. Just a little trivia. Did you know why it is called six feet below the ground? Well, it is because that is the prescribed by the health office that a cadaver should be dug and covered with soil. Less that six feet would mean that the dead body's smell would still come out of the ground. Nobody wants to smell a cadaver that would be unsanitary to all.

PLANNED ACTIVITY FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY

We were very tired in entertaining our guest last Sunday. Our plans on how to celebrate the occasion was temporarily suspended because of the guest in our house. After the Sunday's event, me and my wife went to a hotel in downtown area to spend time with each other.

We stayed at Sunflower Hotel. It is a mid size hotel with 40 rooms available. I would say it was on of the hotels under the budget class. But the accommodation was very good. We had the supreme room. it was equipped with a television, air conditioning unit, a hot and cold shower room and the most important of all, a spacious bed for the both of us.

Before proceeding to the hotel where we will be stayed, we dined at Grand Men Seng Hotel, where our reception was held last year. We got a gift certificate from the hotel administration and we selected the buffet dinner for two. We finished our dine around 8 pm.

We also booked for a day tour stay at Pearl Farm Beach Resort. This is the most beautiful beach resort here in Davao City. Most visited by tourist and locals because of the amenities and facilities. That I have to post later for my wife will be uploading the picture in the web. That I will post later my friends.

HECTIC SCHEDULE

I am very busy this past few days. I just celebrated my first wedding anniversary last Sunday. I was not prepared for the occasion. Me and my wife was already cooking something for our anniversary. But I was not prepared when my mother was also cooking her own recipe for our anniversary.

It was just the Saturday before, when she told me that she had already invited my aunts and uncles in our house for our anniversary. On the anniversary day, we went immediately to the market to buy some ingredients for the things that we will be cooking. I also bought a lechon for our first year anniversary.

The party ended at 9 pm. I drove my cousins to their houses and my aunt, who lives in Lanang area. It was a very tiring job of cooking and entertaining as well. But I am just happy that our anniversary was celebrated well.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO

Now I know what to do for our first year anniversary this coming October 11. We are thinking of having a trip to Pearl farm in Samal Island and will be staying at one of the hotels here in Davao City. I cannot think better than that. My wife will be booking our staying maybe by tomorrow or the end of September. I don't want to mess anything when it comes to planning for the anniversary because she is good in that. But I am more concern with the financial of the scheduled activity for our anniversary.

We have to many plans this coming days and I am very excited of these activities. My plans for the upcoming months are very rigid and I need my best concentration for this matter. My office mate keeps on inviting me to join his weights session at Matina Crossing. I still need to think about it because with the body that I had, I don't need to go to the gym and work things out for my body. But that is not yet final for me. if I think that I really need a gym session, then I will go to the gym and enroll myself for their session.

LATE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

I just got from a free dinner courtesy of Kit, my cousin who celebrated his 22nd birthday. I was not around during his birthday because I was in Mati. As they said, it is better to be late than never at all. The small feast for just the four of us was held at their residence in downtown area. We were not expecting guest since nobody was coming except us.

In their living room area, we dined and celebrated his day of birth. Mom was very vocal about the things Kit should do, since he will be taking the nursing board examination this coming November. I hope he will make it because that will shape his future as a nurse and land a job in a medical institution. I am proud of my cousin, I saw him grew from a young boy to a matured thinker.

My aunt cooked everything that we ate tonight. I was very stomach full after the sumptuous dinner at the house of my cousin. I was planning to give him something, maybe I have to buy something for him later on. Kit really wanted to have a play station and play his favorite game, NBA live. For he love basketball so much, the only problem is that he is short. He only stands around 5'3", pretty short for a guy. But he is good looking just like me.

BER MONTH IS NOW HERE

Yes! Finally it is already BER month. This means that few months from now, we will be celebrating Christmas again. That means gifts and gifts for all. I can now hear Christmas carols and songs related to the season. I guess I need to prepare the Christmas tree so that I can decorate our house easily.

This Christmas will be extra special for us because there are new additions to our growing family. This the first time that we will be celebrating Christmas with my new niece, CLoi. I want to make the season special, I have decided to buy new decorations for our Christmas Tree and some brand new lights. I really need to replace the old ones since that are so many lights that are busted already.

Early shopping for Christmas is very ideal right now to avoid the Christmas rush. People tend to do panic buying when Christmas is approaching. Malls and shopping centers here in our city are now preparing for the season of Christmas. I guess I need to do my Christmas list, things to buy for Christmas. I better start writing now so that I won't forget the smallest details in my Christmas list.

BIRTHDAY PARTY SUCCESS

My mom just celebrated her 57th birthday at Kuya Eds restaurant along Magallanes Street, here in Davao City. Most of her guests were relatives and extended families. The eating portion started immediately, since the food were already prepared at the eat-all-you can restaurant. Mom received several gifts from her sisters and friends.

Dining out and celebrating birthdays and other special occasions is better to be held in restaurants. In Kuya Ed, you would only pay around 99 pesos per person. There is no limit and minimum. After eating, anybody can leave without thinking of the washables. In this like this, we need to be practical.

ITS MOM'S BIRTHDAY

Mom is turning 57 tomorrow. According to her, she will celebrate her birthday by just dining outside. Usually when she say that, it means that we are going to her favorite eat-all-you can restaurant. She has already made some invitations to her sisters and brother. My brother from Tagum City will be arriving also. Birthdays should be celebrate because it is a celebration of life.

I would say and I am proud to say this that my mother is the best in the whole world. We were just in our teenage years when my father passed away due to a car accident. Since then, my mom raise us all and took over the role of my father and mother as well. She was only 43 years old when dad passed away. Without a husband to cling on, she was able to get us through school. We finished our schooling at a good school without delay. She may be full of mouth sometimes but I guess that really is a mother.

Happy Birthday Mommy Heda Rojas. May you have more blessing and birthdays to come. I know you are doing a good job. Keep it Up!

MOTHER'S DAY: A DAY FOR OUR BELOVED MOTHERS

Being a mother is not an easy job, if we can call it a job. It is a full time responsibility and dedication to her children. As they can say, a father cannot do a mother's job, but a mother can do a father's job. This statement is very evident to all single mothers around the world who are working and doing the cash in in the family just to provide food on the table for her kids. To deliver life into this world is not easy. Mothers would nurture their babies inside the womb for 9 months before delivering a life into this world. That alone is a good example why mothers are irreplaceable.

Since today is a special day for all mothers. I think it would be a good idea to treat our mother and give her something that she deserves. That is pampering her. This is not an entire year. Just one day, thanking her for all the thing that she made for us all. Nobody will be alive in this world without a mother.

Since today is mother's day. I would suggest that we treat her in some restaurants for dinner and maybe buying her a gift. It would be also best to treat her by having her body massaged and to make it relax. Mother's needed that. Hard days in work and or doing the house choirs is very tiring. By pampering her, it would ease her tired body. Watching movies is also a good idea or a facial spa would also be appreciated by our mothers. You can do anything just to show her how much we love her and presence is very important to us. Happy mother's day mom. We love you so much.
