THE COUGHING CONTINUES

I thinks it is already 2 weeks now and still my cough is still with me. I got a cough and then fever and now the fever is gone and still my cough rages on. I am like a dog right now. I cough and cough all the time. I already taken some medications, but no effect. I am considering going to the medical expert to consult my cough condition. It is very irritating and disturbing when I cough in the office.

I already took robitussin gel capsules and still my cough is still bothering me all the time. I don't bring handkerchief with me. When I cough I just cover my mouth with my hands. I don't want to cause an outbreak in the office and make others ill. Maybe the problem is with me. I don't take my medicines religiously as stated in the medical book. I miss sometimes my medicines. Few more days and if my cough goes on, I would admit myself in the hospital for proper medical attention.

BASKETBALL IS GOOD FOR THE HEART

It was the best game ever! I am referring to our basketball game this afternoon. I guess my body has regained the condition that I wanted for the game. I never felt tired in the entire game and I also grabbed a couple of rebounds. My stamina is back again. But I need to practice my shooting skills because I was not able to convert a basket in the entire game. But that's fine for me. As they say, you can't have everything in this world.

Our schedule for the next game would be next week, after my field work in North Cotabato. Playing basketball really is a good for our body. In makes us alert and responsive to all things. It is also a good cardio sport for the heart. My brother always play basketball always. They have their basketball team and they regularly play every Wednesdays. My brother invited me once to join their game but I refused because I have so many things to do that day.

DRUG REHABILITATION CENTERS NEEDED

I was doing my field work here in North Cotabato and I just can't help but notice that there are so many young kids ages from 8 to 14 years old sniffing rugby in hidden areas. They place the rugby into a plastic cellophane and place it under their shirts and from time to time the sniff it. This is a very alarming scene to see. Boys as young as this should not be doing this. They should be in school learning lessons that will help them build their future. Rugby sniffing is very addictive and destructive to a young child's brain. As I observed, there are very few rehabilitation centers for drug dependents here in the city where I am right now. If only the government can act immediately to end this addiction to rugby by kids, it would be best. As they say our children are the future of the nation. But when they are like this, addicted to substance, the nation will never have a bright future.

RECOVERY FROM FEVER

I miss blogging so much. For three days, I was not able to post anything and that I ask for apology to my friends. It is because for three straight days, I was in my bed due to fever, cough and colds. I don't know if it was already A(H1N1) or formerly known as swine flu. I have already the symptoms but the doctor told me that I need to have plenty of rest for the sickness that I am in right right is caused by stress. My doctor added that I need to have at least 7-8 hours of sleep and not the usual 4 to 5 hours of sleep. But I am already fine now. I also thought that it was dengue but there were no marks and no blood coming out from my nose and eyes, so it was totally not dengue.

I still need the rest that I deserve right now. The swine flu scare is spreading like fire here in the Philippines and I don't want to be the first case here in Davao City. Hospitals here in the city are well equipped with the facilities that are must needed for swine flu patients. The doctor's advise is very helpful to me. I also noticed that I feel great and the sleepiness is gone from my systems. Having enough rest is the key to the immediate cure against fever, colds and cough.

MY HEAD IS IN PAIN RIGHT NOW

I just got home from the office and my head is aching right now. Maybe because of the hot weather that we got here in Davao City. I was doing my field work when my headache visited me again. I have this already since I was in college and until now, the pain still lingers. I never had visited the doctor for a check up and I also don't take medicines for this head problem. I remembered before when I was in my second year in college. My headache was so painful that it caused me to have fever and suddenly blood came out from my nose. I was rushed to the hospital for medical attention and the doctor said that I had to have some break from school so that I would have enough rest. That was the most painful experience that I had.

I guess I really need to take some medicines right to relieve my headache. By tomorrow, I will be doing again another field work and I just hope that I don't experience this pain again. I already took my dinner and still the pain is still here. if this pain continues, I might have another leave for tomorrow. By now, I will just sit and relax in the old chair in the living area of our house and watch television.

HEALTHY LIVING MEANS DRINKING MILK EVERYDAY

I used to have 3 glasses of coffee in the morning and another 3 glasses of coffee in the afternoon. I only drink coffee in the office and never at home. maybe because the coffee is readily available and easy to prepare. But later I realized that I am not drinking the right drink for me. I also noticed that every time I drink coffee, I lose my appetite on eating. I would even not have my lunch because of that. I know that I needed to change what I am drinking because according to the health magazine that I always read in the morning, coffee is good because is fasten our metabolism rate and keep us always in shape. But the problem about drinking coffee always is that you loses your focus and you get frightened easily. I also believe that coffee drink leads to ulcer. That is why I stopped drinking coffee and I went back to my old ways by drinking milk everyday. According to the health magazine that I read daily, milk is good because it give our bones the calcium needed to prevent osteoporosis. Two glasses a day of milk is ideal for all. Now, coffee is out of my system and I don't like the taste of it. I prefer milk rather than coffee.

IN TIMES LIKE THIS WE NEED MULTIVITAMINS

For the past two months already, I have been taking lots of multivitamins for my health. As they say health is wealth. That is why I make sure that I eat balance diet and multivitamins. I have Clusivol, Lecit E, Myra 300 E, Conzace and stress tabs. May be if I am going to make an inventory of multivitamins, I will be able to make my own pharmacy because of the medicines that I take, but that is good actually. This I noticed that when I take too much of the vitamin E, I notice pimples would then pop-out in my face. Maybe this is because of the vitamin e.

Taking multivitamins helps and protect our body against diseases. It also helps our body develop the needed antibodies for protection. Now that I take these multivitamins, I feel complete and free from harmful diseases. I would recommend this to all for it is very important to our health.

MORNING ISTHE BEST TIME FOR EXERCISE

Nothing beats the cool and fresh air in the morning. That is why many are often seen in parks and in shopping mall grounds (SM City) walking and running. Even me, I prefer the morning jog rather than in the afternoon because of the air is different. I usually would wake up around 5 am. I would then prepare myself and wear my jogging clothes and running shoes for my daily exercise routine. At 5:10 am, I am already ready for my morning jogging and exercise. I always go the Shoe Mart grounds. There I get to meet different people who are also doing their exercise in the morning.

I usually run/jog around 5 turns in the ground before I do the walking. In exercising, it is important to do the stretching before the vigorous running. Stretching our muscles and doing some warm ups would help and prevent injury when doing the morning exercise. Spend at least 3 minutes in the stretching part. This I learned when I was in the varsity group in high school. We were always instructed by our coach never to do the running and jumping unless we already did the stretching and a little warm up.

After I completed the 5 turns in the grounds, I would then do the cool down by simply walking around until my heart beat goes to normal mode. This is also very important after a jog. After a couple of minutes, I go straight home just walking. By 6:45 am I am already home and prepare myself for my office job. In this time, we need to have a good exercise to have a healthy body.

MY WIFE NEEDS TO LOWER HER BODY WEIGHT

This afternoon, my wife called me and told me about the medical findings on her. The doctor told her that she is over weight. She has to lose some of her weight and keep her in good condition. Her blood sugar is also high. That means no more ice creams and chocolates for her. I even teased her buy offering her some cakes and ice cream. But she declined my tempting offer to her. Next week she must undergo another check up for thorough check in her health condition. I might be absent in the office to accompany her to the doctor. She requested that from me. I cannot decline that kind of request, especially coming from her.

EASY WAY TO CLEAN OUR EARS

Many of us too busy running our lives. We even neglect cleaning our ears, for some. Instead of using your fingers and inserting them in your years, I suggest to use cotton buds. It is safe and easy to use. Usually, an ear would consume 3 sticks of the cotton buds. Earwax usually cover the inner part of our ear. I suggest you take only the ones in the outer areas. Earwax is a defense in our ears against insects and small objects to enter our ear core.
