Who is safe? That is a simple question that many are bothered answering. In this time of trouble, who can assure that he/she is safe. The red Cross volunteers in Basilan were even not spared by the kidnappers. The Red Cross volunteers where doing their charity work when they were abducted by some unknown personalities. They were said to be taken to Sulu, the stronghold of the kidnappers and taken as hostages for ransom. The famous actor, Robin Padilla, even volunteered to mediate the release of the captives, allowing them to be free and back to their normal life, if there is after the abduction.
The current situation in Basilan and Julu is now under news blackout. The well-respected Ces Drillon of ABS-CBN network was abducted in 2008. She was freed after paying the ransom that the kidanappers demanded. But the catch is that, the mayor of the town was coniving with kidnappers and taking his part of the ransom.
With the currebt situatiuon, I guess nobody is safe right now.
