He was considered as the foundation of the Philippine Rap Industry. His songs echoed across the country and touched millions of lives. Francis Magalona, the Master Rapper, of the Philippines passed away last March 6, 2009 at the age of 44 because of Leukemia. He battled the disease but for about several months after he was diagnosed with it. Many donated blood for the Master Rapper. He even undergo bone marrow surgery just to be well. Many of his friends were shocked of his death. He was supposed to have guest at the Eraserheads concert this Saturday but I guess the concert will be a tribute to the Man From Manila. The Philippine Rap Industry will never be the same without Francis Magalona a.k.a. KIKO. Rapping was not just a song, it is a way of life. He wrote songs such us Kaleidoscope World, Mga Kababayan, Cold Summer Nights and others more. What I like about Francis M is that his songs are not just like typical bar outing event or some fancy restaurant experiences. He wrote songs with class, as I would describe it. it was for the Filipino people not just his life event. His songs were very favorite in election campaigns and propaganda. Aside from the song writing career, Francis Magalona was also into directing of music videos, hosting and owns a t-shirt company on his name. FrancisM, Filipinos will surely miss you. But we know that you go straight up there. Goodbye and farewell!
