Today is a holiday because our city is celebrating the Kadayawan Festival. The kadayawan Festival is an annual celebration for a bountiful harvest of the farmers. This festival happens during the third week of August.
The Kadayawan Festival also a celebration of tribes or original settlers of Davao City. The festival is a week long even that highlights all the indigenous products not just in Davao City but also in the neighboring towns, cities and municipalities.
In this celebration, there will be series of events like the Indak-indak sa dalan or the street dancing, Floral float parade, the Hiyas ng Kadayawan and other events that are truly Kadayawan events.
