TRAVELLING JOE

Every month I have a scheduled trip to the provinces. I personally make this schedule and then it will be approved by my department head. After the approval, I will then make a cash I.O.U slip to get the funds to finance my trip. When I have already finished the trip, I then liquidate all the expenses incurred and submit my field activity report.

I have been doing this since 2001 when I started working. Travelling is fun. You get to know many people and meet new friends along the way. But sometimes, if you are doing it over and over gain, you get bored. There are times that I don't want to have this official trip because it is really tiring and the areas, where I go, are not that safe to travel or to go to. There was one time when I have to go to a known critical area. All the brave in me was really extinct because I was very scared. That is what they say, there are no living heroes, they are all in the cemetery. After I finished the field work there, I swore never to return there alone. Because if any thing bad happens to me in these critical areas, my insurance will not pay my family. What an insurance. That is why I am very cautious when travelling in these known critical areas.

I guess that is part of our life that we have to perform our duties and responsibilities in our occupation. I just hope that I don't get caught by misfortune. I always pray that misfortune would never come across my way.
