I was on my way back to Koronadal City. While waiting at the bus terminal in Surallah, a town part of South Cotabato here in Mindanao, Philippines, I noticed two young girls aged 5 and 6, selling candies in the terminal area. They were talking to their mother who is also selling in the terminal area or the bus station. They were carrying small boxes full with assorted candies that they sell in the bus station area. Many were buying their candies from these young kids because many are amazed with their being hardworking. At there very young and tender age they are already exposed and with one thing in their mind, to help their parents with their financials.
I realized that these young children at the terminal are earning a honest living to help their parents in their financials. They should be in play school not in crowded terminal selling various products. Some here in the Philippines are too lazy to find a way to earn a living. They just drink and drink alcoholic drinks all day long. We call them "estambai", people who just standby and do nothing in life.
I hope many would be like these two young children. They strive hard and help their family.children
